SERVICE and WARM FUZZIES...
I decided that our family needs to focus more on serving others, and the happiness it brings into our lives when we do. From the little tiny things to big things that we would need to do as a family, it is time we focus on others. Bug and Lexlee understand a bit better about not being awarded for service, but Jibbity on the other hand...makes sure you know when she has served you.haha It was really sweet, last night Jibbity grabbed my hand and told me I needed to go look in my room. She had taken off all the pillows and pulled down the covers for me. She was so excited, and told me she had done service and that her heart felt good. Same thing today when she noticed Lexlee had not put her shoes away appropriately, she says to me,"look what I'm doing Mom...this is service".
So...I came up with a container that we can fill with "warm fuzzies", ya know the feeling you get when you serve someone or do something good?(an old red vines container, mod podge, and scrapbook paper) We will put a little craft pompom in the jar whenever we have done an act of service, little or big, it doesn't matter. The kids are soooo excited to start filling their "SERVICE" jar.
For Family Home Evening Monday night, we talked a lot about service. President Monson's talk on Sunday during General Conference really stuck with me. It was one the kids could actually remember, and they loved the "warm fuzzies" idea. Why not bring that spirit into our home?... now I gotta go buy some warm fuzzies.:-)
Everyone have a great Wednesday Morning!!!

I love it! What a great way to teach servanthood to our children :)
Cute idea and great with teaching the kids!!
Wow, Tanielle. This is needed in our house. Can you make one of those cute warm fuzzies jars for me? That would count as service!! I think my family thinks service means Mom is the servant. ah. My fault.
(Gosh that jar/bucket is cute!)
Wonderful idea! See-it's parents like you who make our children's future's bright!
Cute container! So many times we just hear a talk and think, nice talk, then go on our way. You actually make it come to life and that is a blessing for your children. Great idea, great mom!
I love it! That's a great idea. I'm going to borrow it and log it away to use when my kids are a little older. Thanks!
You are teaching your children valuable lessons that they'll remember their whole lifetime. Way to go, Mom!
You are such an incredible Mom instilling amazing qualities in your kiddos.
What a cute idea! I loved that talk from conference!

What a great idea!! I'm definitely going to copy you. :)
That's a great idea! My kids would love that, they love to know when they've done something good and want to do it again. :)
What a simple idea! I just might have to bring this one into our house!
AWE! That is so sweet. I love the idea of the service bucket...and I LOVE the way you fancied it up!! You're so crafty. We should all have a servant's heart. Such a good thing to pass down to your children.
Wonderful idea.
So is there anything out there you can't turn into a work of art?? The plastic jar is sooo cute!!
if that container was still full of twizzlers it would give me "warm fuzzies"!!! ;)
..it turned out so cute! love it and the idea!!
Super idea! And that scripture is one of my favorites. :) You decorated that jar so dang cute Taneill!
Great idea! :)
(And a cute container.)
Grant's teacher has a container like that (not as cute though) and it gets filled with popcorn kernals when she notices the kids being nice and sweet to eachother, or helpful, etc. When the container is filled, she makes the whole class an air-popped popcorn treat.
