Yep pretty much the world's biggest blog slacker!!! BUT....it is time for another birthday in this house, and dangit!!!!!....they won't stop growing up!!!

HAPPY 12th Birthday to Lexlee!!!!

I seriously can't believe we have hit this age, it doesn't.seem.possible!!!!!!!!! She is an absolutely amazing young lady, and one of the greatest helpers in this home ever! Not gonna lie....she is hitting the teenager "holy crap what the heck happened to my sweetheart" phase once in a while, but I wouldn't trade her for anything.

She already had her "one friend party", and she chose Miss Cowgirl to be her friend. She decided she wanted a mani/pedi kind of party, so that's what we did in the snowstorm. They loved it!!!!

Happy Birthday my sweetheart!! I love you so much, and am soooo grateful I get to be your mom!!! Hope this special 12th birthday is the best ever!!!!

How is it possible that 8 years have passed already??? This is one of the funnest, most dramatic, energetic, happy girls you could ever meet. Jibbity has a true zest for life and living it to the fullest, I hope she never loses that enthusiasm!

Seriously one of the funniest, craziest, cutest, most nutty, biggest eyed munchkins ever!!! This little guy has brought sooooo much joy and happiness into our home. He literally makes us laugh all day(and occasionally makes me completely crazy)but I have got to be one of the luckiest moms in the world to have this amazing spirit and personality in my home, and I get to be his mom forever!

14 years ago today I gave birth to my very first baby. I was soo terrified, and had no idea what to expect. After only 10 hours of labor my little "Bug" entered the world, and I was taken! Holy smokes this was MY baby, and he was perfect!!

I didn't know then how amazing, difficult, heartbreaking, perfect, and every other emotion and feeling there is motherhood would be, but I wouldn't trade it for the skinniest body, all the stretch marks that I have from each child, or all the money in the world. It is the biggest miracle in my life and I am truly blessed!

Now that little guy of mine is a BIG 14 years old, almost 6 feet tall, handsome and talented, and one of the greatest kids I have ever known.
Happy Birthday BUG, I love you more than words can describe, and I am forever grateful that I have the opportunity to be your mom.

Holy Crap!!

What started out as simply removing some tile behind the toilet to get ready for the new floor...changed to "Holy Crap" the sub-floor and even the ply-wood under that is rotten, along with the cupboard side, which we discovered was also growing black mold. (insert seriously loud screaming from the going crazy woman in this house)

Made for some humorous camera shots though...and I'm sure the neighbors love having our toilet perched on the deck...not that I really care since they are how should I put it...party house trash?
Bug would seriously probably like this outdoor environment to sit on the pot, and I'm sure would absolutely drink a Mountain Dew while doing business.

Little Squishy just loves being outside!

Ashie, was very confused being a newly potty trained little monkey, and crying because the toilet was outside. On a somewhat funny and gross note...the water was turned off for hours on Saturday, leaving us only one toilet to use, and no flushing allowed...sick I know. Miss Ashie wouldn't use the toilet because there were shall we say "presents" already in there. Poor girl is traumatized. It made me laugh though, because I am such a good mom like that. :)

POINT is...who knows how long we will be without our other bathroom, who knows how long I will keep screaming in my head, and oh well at least the sun is shining today, and Bin Laden has been killed!!!!

Soooo sweet!!! Love this girl!! And miss my dad so much, especially since his birthday is this coming Saturday. :(

I seriously hate feet...they are kinda gross, sometimes hairy(I must admit I have shaved them once or twice)....BUT...I TRIPLE HEART(just for you X) fun, cute nail polish, and the green grass peeking out through my toes...notice...most of my toes are hidden under my jeans because well...feet are gross. :) I actually quadruple HEART toe rings, it makes me hate my feet less.

Little Squishy Face is getting big...he is sooo stinkin cute!!! BUT he is turning into a tornado, ya get him out of his crib...and he never stops til ya put him back in. Warm enough to be outside for a bit...well not all that warm but the sun was shining.

NOTICE of hideous zits populating my face...what the ell is that all about? Oh yeah it's called stress in abundance...but that is life, and we all deal with it...BLAST!!!! But my little guy is sooooo crazy cute...and says "backpack"....hmmmm that could possibly be from Dora.

We have been working(I should say Hunter Dan...because he is a bit shall we say OCD about how things are done...not even kiddin' he has OCD a little) It will SOMEDAY(someday because "HE" has been working on it for months now) look great. We live in a house built in the 1970's true story, we are NOT rich...not even close...but things are looking pretty good...and I am excited to get some new flooring. I will share some photos soon of what we have done...included will be "our" collection of dead critters in my living room and bedroom...I should win wife of the day at least.

Oh yeah, and my son(BUG) has decided he is going to go live with his dad...hence the "I am not going to stop bawling" title, because well I do a lot of that right now. I will not get into that at this time....a post for another day...but I am NOT coping well.

On a happy note my kids and I are outside enjoying the sunshine...cold enough though that my toes are about to fall off in my flip flops...oh well feet are ugly. :)

How sad is it that I have this darling new blog design and have yet to even do a new post!!! Life is tricky and complicated and full of ups and downs...right now I am struggling to stay somewhat sane, and not lose it completely!!! :) Just watched my dear Xazmin's vlog(her first ever and she was darling) thought to myself, "how fun I want to participate"...but then realized my eyes are swollen from crying so much, and I'm really not in the mood to try to be cheerful, how pathetic I know! I miss blogging!! Sometime I will share what has got me so down, beyond down really...especially since this is my journal and I need to record good and bad...not yet though.

We got tons of snow yesterday....so crazy, went from being in the sixties on Saturday to 8 inches of white stuff by Sunday morning!!! I am needing some Spring!!! :)

I wish life could slow down a bit...just sayin'...

Lexlee is feeling soooo much better now! During her recovery she spent quite a bit of time like this...playing webkinz...which I by the way quite enjoy and play on Ashie's when I need to de-stress a bit. Wish I would have thought of them!

Ashie of course has to be like her big sister...
Being off track is nice and lazy, especially when Lexlee is stuck at home...all three girls in their pj's, sitting in the sun. I love quiet moments when we are couped up and relaxing.(o.k...they are relaxing...I am not, but that's ok...such is life as "just a mom"(that was the term Lexlee used when Jibbity came home and asked if I would speak to her class on "tool day" ya know the day when parents come and talk about their jobs)....hahaha, I just smiled she will find out soon enough! :)

I just think he is sooo blasted cute!!!!

Mod Podge Mania!!!!!...school desk redo

WoooooHoooooo!!!! Mod Podge Mania is back again, head on over to This is the Year and link up any project you've done using mod podge!!!!!! Super fun to get to know other bloggers and see some fun projects!

I found an old school desk at the DI(local thrift shop) for $5.00, and had to get it. I've been looking for one for a while, my kiddos LOVE playing school. Almost forgot to take a before picture.

It was all blue, with a wooden top. I spray painted it a fun bright pink, then mod podged some fabulous vinyl with flannel backing on the top. The vinyl makes cleaning a breeze. It coordinated with the girls room perfectly!!

I did this project last summer when there was beautiful green grass, and sunshine.(oh how I miss it!!!) I love how the desk turned out and the kids love it, in fact we could really use a second for the "teacher".

Not as Fun this Year....

Only two days ago this little missy had her tonsils removed. First day was pretty good, yesterday was a little more rough, last night was worse, and today......HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!! Don't think I am a horrible mom to schedule surgery two days before her birthday, it was her decision to do it this week or next, she chose this week even if she was miserable on her Birthday because..."I just want to feel better".

Needless to say Lexlee, your 11th birthday will be one you will never forget!!

We love you soooo much!! You are the sweetest little thing, have such a big heart, and such a love for your siblings. No wonder they all adore you. You are beautiful inside and out. We are very blessed to have you in our family.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY my LITTLE SWEETIE!!!!! We will celebrate better in a couple of weeks! :)

Remember yesterday when I talked about the most heartfelt Christmas gift???

Christmas morning we were just finishing unwrapping our gifts, only a couple more left. One of those happened to be from my mom to Hunter Dan and I. It was sad this year to see the tags read only from my mom, or "love from Grandma". I told Hunter Dan to go ahead and open it since it was to both of us....after he tore off the paper and opened the box, I looked up to see what we had been given. Mom is really good about things like food storage as gifts and I love that, so I just assumed it would be something along those lines....I could not have been more wrong....

Dear Tanielle and Hunter Dan,

I was packing up some of Dad's clothes for the DI(a thrift store) when I decided to give you kids one more memory of him. I think you will recognize that the squares in this quilt are from 14 of the most recent and favorite shirts of his, and the last pairs of levis before he left this earth. I wanted to do this, and I really felt the warmth of him as I was sewing, so I think he approved.

She of course ended the card by telling us how much she loved us and how she hoped we had a very Merry Christmas.

She not only made one for us, but my FIVE other living siblings as well.

When I hold this quilt I can smell him. I am sooo grateful to my mom for doing this for us, it means more than I can even explain....and since as I am typing this I am sobbing(because lets face it I am one emotional gal...all the time), and can't see the screen anymore I will end it by showing you what she hand-stitched on my amazing "dad quilt".

Sure do miss this guy!!!

Happy 1st Birthday my beautiful lil' Squishy face!!!
You started out in a very different way than all your sisters and brother...c-section, and with fluid in your lungs. You scared us for a while, then decided not to re-gain your birth weight dropping down to 5 lbs 11 oz. At 6 weeks you were still not back up to your 7 lbs 3 oz birth weight and diagnosed "failure to thrive". A mighty miracle happened that weekend and you gained many ounces keeping you out of the hospital. Since those scary first few weeks you have grown like a weed and brought soooo much joy into this crazy family.

Here you are a big 1 year old, yes it brings tears of joy and sadness...I want you to stay little forever, but you are so much fun to watch grow!!! You are walking all over the place, you LOVE to unroll the toilet paper, you LOVE french fries, and bananas. Your big brother and sisters can make you laugh like crazy. YOU are loved beyond any amount you can imagine....to the moon and back a million times and more!!!

....In love with my children!! They may drive me crazy sometimes, and our small house may seem like it is going to explode, and I may get very frustrated and grumpy, but they are amazing!!!!!

....Amazed at how much these two beautiful young ladies are growing up!!! They each have their own unique and crazy personality. My little Jibbity performed in dance recital number 8 a week ago. She LOVES being on the stage, and has so much fun performing. Thanks sweetie for another fun recital!!!

Simply put...

Lexlee is a sweetheart...she's quiet, and graceful, but can play in the mud with the best of them. She doesn't like to be in the spotlight or be the center of attention, she's thoughtful and mothering, but can give attitude like a 13 year old. She's beautiful inside and out, has a mop of gorgeous hair, but would prefer it in just a "pony". Love, love, love this girl!!!

In trying to find a hobby for her...we looked to many different activities. She played on a soccer team a few times, but when the ball rolled towards her, she casually walked in the other direction. She tried many types of dance lessons, ballet, tap, clogging...but really didn't like to perform, and found it kind of boring which of course broke my heart, being that dance was my life! She tried piano lessons, and enjoyed it a bit...but lost interest quickly. She has always loved to draw, and create though so when I saw a sign for art lessons I thought...HA, this is it.

She is taking oil painting, LOVES it and looks very forward to Tuesdays. A few weeks ago she brought home her first painting. She's only 10 years old, but I was sooo proud I cried, and she beamed!!!!

I LOVE this painting!!!! I am having it framed and it will be hung in my kitchen. I think we've found her "hobby". Now if we could just figure out a way to get her to move a little faster...have ya ever known anyone that can take 20 minutes to put shoes on???? She is awesome!!!

Wherefore Art Thou...?

He's right here and he's my son!!!! That's right Bug was cast as Romeo in the sixth grade Shakespeare play performances. I may be a little biased but he is a pretty dang cute boy with those big ol' dimples, and tallness. He was awesome, and did such a fabulous job!! I was one proud momma!! Bug told me one day after school, "uhhhhh, we HAD to try out for the play today. I tried not to do very good so I won't get a big part." I thought to myself, how funny it would be if he got Romeo. The next day he came home, plunked down on the couch, and quietly said, "I'm Romeo". I laughed.........a lot.(he didn't seem all that upset really or I wouldn't have laughed)

Funny thing though, I found out a few days later from Bug's good friend's mom, that my little Romeo actually tried really hard to get a good part, and even memorized some lines. I love this 4 months shy of a teenage boy...he is a hoot, and one heck of a good kid!!! Love you buddy!!!

Finally!!!!!

It took 8 1/2 weeks, 6 surgeries, numerous infections, and many specialty Doctors....but Dad finally left the Salt Lake Valley, and headed to the rehab floor in the hospital in Idaho Falls!!! Many, many times we were told that his chances were slim, and his prognosis was poor. I spent day in and day out with Dad through the bad, worst, and eventually positive times. I am soooo very grateful that I could be there for him. Now that he's four hours away I don't have the opportunity to be with him every day, and phone calls have to do. We are sooo blessed to have had him pull through all of this, and for all the prayers and fasting our family is forever grateful. To my sweet friends and family who were there whenever I needed for babysitting, food, and a shoulder to cry on, I am beyond thankful!!! Love you all!!!

While being with my Dad at the hospital....

My lil' squishy face turned five months...he is sooo much fun, such a good baby, and nice and fat, you'd never know he was "failure to thrive" now. The time has gone by sooo fast.

We had a crazy snow storm yesterday, and it weighed down the maple tree in the backyard to the point the branches actually touched the ground.

Hunter Dan went to his "Presidents Club dinner" with his date....Jibbity. She had a ball!!!
Ashie had to have a picture with Daddy and Jibbity too.

He only had a five percent chance to make it through surgery if they performed it in Idaho, and they refused to do it I'm sooo grateful I can be here close, and basically I am running a small hotel in my house for family. It's wonderful having family here!!

THE SIMPLE WOMAN'S DAYBOOK

Outside my window...I am in the ICU waiting room looking at the gray clouds, the Oquirrh mountains, and the gorgeous American flag blowing in the breeze.

I am thinking...holy smokes it has been four weeks today since my Dad went in for surgery.

I am thankful...for my fabulous niece Michelle who drove here from Idaho to watch my little monkeys so I can be at the hospital.

I am praying...that Lil' Squishy Face will fall asleep soon.

I am reading...what is that???

I am creating...nothing right now, but am looking forward to painting and mod podging an old childs school desk, I found at the D.I.

From the kitchen...looking forward to making and smelling some yummy cookie bars this evening...We can't go in to see Dad between six and eight, so we take a break then.

Around the house...Eight children 12 and under, my brother Kurt, niece Michelle, and me...for now, my mom will come back from Idaho after working a couple days, and Hunter Dan will be home from work on Friday afternoon.

One of my favorite things...Dr. Pepper, light ice...helps to keep me awake, and helps with the massive headaches I have been having.

A few plans for the rest of the week...hangin' out at the hospital, trying to rest, enjoying family, and praying for improvement for my Dad.

He's had a number of health problems through the years including brain-surgery(he had epilepsy).

Now we face yet another surgery...

This coming Tuesday, the 20th, he will undergo major open-heart surgery.

There are many problems, and I mean MANY!

My Dad is on my mind right now constantly...I love you Dad, we need you here for many more years. .

A while back I signed up for a super fun flip flop swap!!!! What a great idea to kick off summer hosted by the adorable Annikke from Mom is in the Fishbowl.

I was soooo excited to get my package, who doesn't love getting awesome things in the mail?? Blogging Mama Andrea sent me the cutest flip flops ever!!! These are absolutely me, she picked them perfectly! THANK-YOU SOOOO much Andrea!!!! I have already broken them in, and they said "thanks"!

I need to be grateful for all the many blessings I have...so off the top of my head the first five things that pop into my mind...

1. Being able to sleep in just a little now that my kiddos are off for Spring Break. We'll see if that actually happens.

2. Bathrooms, seriously I am sooo thankful that I don't have to run outside in the middle of the night to use the outhouse...especially with the three new inches of snow on the ground!!

3. The need for snuggling from my kids, all but Bug that is...he does like to sit and talk sometimes though, and he's got quite a funny little personality.

4. Honey-nut cheerios... breakfast, lunch, or dinner, they never fail me.

5. The garbage trucks...I am so thankful that we have three separate trucks that come and haul all our garbage, green waste, and recycling away...plus it is Ashie's favorite thing to see!

The bunny shirts I made for the girls last year, Lexlee wore hers to school, but I think she did it just to be kind to me...she is 10 after all, and girls that age don't wear fluffy bunnies on their shirts to school anymore. She's a sweetie!

Mod Podge Mania...camo ceiling fan

It's time for MOD PODGE MANIA!!!! Head on over to Xazmin's and link up a new or old project, and see some other great bloggers ideas.

This is a little something I thought of doing months ago, but didn't quite get to it before Lil' Squishy Face came along. I finally found some time(not really but squeezed it in)to work on it...wonder what Hunter Dan's reaction will be...hmmmm???

We have a small ceiling fan in our bedroom...remember Hunter Dan(hence the name) is big into wilderness and hunting. Our bedroom is very decorated in his hobby...

Camo fabric I had left over from making curtains and pillows for the living room...yes he has a VERY nice wife...

Took off all blades, traced fabric, and cut...

A little mod podge(or a lot) on the wrong side of the blades...just in case we sell the house someday, and the new owners don't care for camo, they can flip them back over to the white side...

Another layer or two over the fabric....

Let dry, and seal with a clear coat spray...

Reattach hardware, ignore your kids wanting dinner, and put the blades back up...

It looks pretty dang cool...I'm anxious to see how long it takes Hunter Dan to notice...After all, this goes along perfectly with the rest of the bedroom....( a pic to give ya a hint of our bedroom)...

Right this very moment, I am sitting in the "enormous" town of Blanding, Ut.

Hunter Dan is from this great place(which I actually love), and we are here for his nephews mission farewell. I am sitting in his sisters big beautiful home by myself with just my three youngest and my 6 year old nephew. Everyone else has gone to the Temple, it's nice....because Ashie is down for a nap. Brought my computer, and time to blog!!!!

Finally..... Happy St. Patricks Day...a little late. My kiddos know to expect green food and milk. This year we woke up late so we only had scrambled eggs, milk and toast. SO gross really...of course my mom holds an annual "green feast" where everyone brings green food to share, the table looks a little undesirable really, but it's lots of fun!! We have missed them for the last few years. SAD!!!

We have NO manners, it's true!

Bug wouldn't wear green, I guess he is too cool for it. Then he reminded me that he had had the orthodontist put on green elastics. Silly boy.

My darling niece Michelle who has three little darling girls of her own found this idea on a blog somewhere and made some for her girls for Christmas. I LOVE this idea!!!! Since Jibbity is a princess and actually argued with me the other day why she should be allowed to wear the hot pink lipstick she had just put on to Kindergarten.....I knew this would be super fun for her. Ashie also has an obsession with make-up, and constantly asks to put "lips" on, so I knew these would be put to good use!

Here ya go....

Start out with some old make-up containers...

Pick some fun fingernail polish colors...the large compact will take an entire bottle. The smaller eye shadows just a little.

Fill em up, and pound 'em on the counter a little to settle the bubbles.

Let dry for a few days....Jibbity was going crazy waiting for these to dry!!! (Michelle also had the idea to clean the fingernail polish brushes, and let the empty bottles dry. Then they have their own pretend polish too.)

Grab some make-up brushes from the dollar store, or clean some old ones, grab a make-up bag.....and let the fun begin!!!!

This kept them busy for a couple of hours.

Ashie has "painted" my fingernails many times today, and "painting" my toe-nails kept her busy during scripture reading.

So fun!!! Even Hunter Dan thought this was a great idea, and kept touching the compacts to see if they were dry because, "his girls wanted to play with their make-up".

1. Favorite things about Spring...I LOVE the sound of the birds chirping in the mornings!!! The bulbs peaking up through the ground...the Easter holiday, and especially the Easter candy..YUM!!! There is just a nice smell too. The glorious sunshine peaking in the windows first thing in the morning...unless it's snowing!

2. What I'm doing for Spring break...We don't have much of a Spring break with year-round school, but when the kiddos go off track in a few more weeks I am looking forward to a visit from my adorable niece Michelle and her three gorgeous little monkey girls!!! That will be a wild 8 kids in the house.

3. Favorite Spring flower...LOVE tulips!!! Can't wait for mine!!! They are looking good, and I have some daffodils that will be opening any day!!!

4. Do you have a garden...Yep...we aren't very good master gardeners though.

5. If so what do you plant...corn, tomatoes, pumpkins, lemon cucumbers(soooo yummy)...this year though we are adding some cilantro, and jalapenos.

6. Do you do Spring cleaning...I think I spring clean all year long. But yes I get more of a bug when the weather gets warm again, and since I seriously nested a few months ago, just some touch-ups here and there.

7. What is your weather "really" like right now...Right this very minute it is beautiful, sunny, and a warm 50 degrees, it even hit 64 yesterday...but it could always snow again any day...keeps us guessing!

8. Snapped any weather related photos lately? Share one with us...
(had a lovely snow pic, but problems with blogger...darn!!)

9. Whats your favorite thing to do on a sunny afternoon... I LOVE working out in the flower beds...so relaxing and feels great to make something look nice!

It has been a long time since I last posted, it seems that time is flying by much faster these days. Here's a little update, and someday I hope to be crafting again and share projects...for now it's just about making it through the day. I didn't think five would be such an adjustment, or maybe it's just Ashie being the little mischievous(but adorable) stinker that she is that seems to throw my organization out of whack. It's crazy but I love it!!

Earlier this week I spent all afternoon in my flower beds. The temp was a warm 51 degrees, I took little squishy out all bundled snuggly in his car seat, while Ashie threw dirt on the sidewalk, and I cleaned the beds. It was wonderful to be out in the sunshine!!! THEN...I woke up to this...

Lil' Squishy is two months already!!! Where does the time go??? We have his 2 mo. appointment today, so I am anxious to see what his weight is. He is growing so much, and getting sooo squishy, I LOVE it!!

I know it was rough having only eight and a half hours of sleep during the night Saturday. Here you are a big 2 year old!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You are a monkey...climbing everything, getting into everything, busy, busy, busy all day long. You love "spidey" song(itsy bitsy spider), and playing "ring-a-rosie...pocket"(ring around the rosies). You say "oops a daisy", and "no thanks" a lot. You are a daddy's girl, and you can get him to do anything for you...pathetic:)!! You take naps, and go to bed really well, but that's no wonder since you are wild all day. Your crib is the one place you can't escape, and the only time Lil' squishy doesn't have to be protected from your many, many kisses. "Where baby go?", is the first thing you say when you are out of your crib in the morning, but that is after you have entertained us through the monitor, with your singing of ABC's, and "Santa coming to town".

YOU ARE A JOY, and PURE MISCHIEF!!! We all love you so much, you make our family very happy, and sometimes very tired!! Ask Grandma and Grandpa...oh you were busy at their house!!!

YOU ARE TOO FUN, and HILARIOUS..with all the things you are trying to do and say. For example, the other day you saw a mole I have by my collar bone, you asked.."owie?", I said "no that's a mole". You then respond with..."Oh, pretty mole".

YOU ARE A SWEETHEART, and A STINKER!! But really would I want you any other way... nope!

Many things to be thankful for...
1. Two handsome sons...Bug often holds Lil' Squishy so I can get a few things accomplished.

2. Three beautiful daughters that keep me very busy...especially Ashie, she's wild!!!

3. The new gorgeous quilt my extremely talented niece Michelle made for Lil' Squishy.

4. The trip to Idaho we snuck away to, just to get out of the house. Unfortunately we ended up at emergency care with Ashie...diagnosis...Bronchiolitis, caused from RSV. Three prescriptions, and a nebulizer later we were back at my parents. Thankful for "ruff ruff" the puppy that always brings comfort to Ashie. Thankful that Lil' Squishy so far has had a tough little immune system. WILL BE EXTREMELY THANKFUL WHEN IT IS SPRING...and we can take Lil' Squishy out of the house, because RSV season will be over!!!

5. Thankful that my little munchkin has a healthy set of lungs that requires me to hold him most of the time...it's rough being a mom. :)

I am truly blessed!!!

Someday I will leave comments again, perhaps someday I will want to put my baby down, but for now I just stalk, I mean read your posts. Hope everyone is doing well.

This is what Hunter Dan and I walked into find the other night...Ashie in the living room being illuminated by the light of my computer, which had been off and closed, and sitting on the floor. She looked at us with her big brown eyes over the top of my laptop, like this is what she's suppose to be doing, as she's typing away. Little stinker, it's hard to be mad when you're laughing so hard...so take a picture. As I took it from her she simply said, "my 'puter".

Seriously??? Ya gotta know the only way to celebrate our blogoversaries would be together!?!?! What would a party be without us both??? Yep we are absolute idiots together, and seriously have way to much ridiculous fun, so the only way to party for our one year blogoversary has to be together with some fun and a giveaway.

What a fantastic year it has been. I have loved getting to know so many amazing ladies out there, and though we have never really met I feel like we are good friends. Hunter Dan doesn't get that at all...MEN!! Thanks so much to all of you who have inspired me, made me smile, laugh out loud, and even cry. I have loved this outlet of mine. I started a blog to keep a journal, and to keep in touch with family, and never expected it to become something so important.

Xazmin and I just happen to share this special day so.....

10 things I love about Xazmin...

1. She laughs with me over the most ridiculous things...(emergency room blood pressure cuff) seriously we laugh until it's painful.

2. She never wears a bra around her house it's hilarious, especially when she forgets to put one on for church.

3. She makes amazing food. I wish she were my personal chef.

4. She is soooo stinkin' smart, I am the dumb friend...it's true, sad, but true.

5. She has made me yell words that are "interesting" out the car windows when we are driving around looking for old "friends" houses in the middle of the night.

6. She is a spiritual giant, seriously she is awesome, and knows her stuff.

7. She introduced me to the joys of "Buffy", and "Angel". Scares the heck outta me but I watch still...from under a blanket.

8. She teaches her kids all they need to know to get through in this scary world. They are also spiritual "mini" giants, and they are brilliant too.

9. She has gorgeously long eye-lashes...so unfair!

10. She is a kind, fun, caring, beautiful person, who I was lucky enough to meet. I am truly blessed.

Good News...

When the Doctor said, "feed him like crazy", that's exactly what I did and WOW did it pay off!! At Lil' squishy faces weight check this afternoon, he weighed in at 7 lbs 12 oz!!!!! I couldn't believe it, the nurse was shocked, and the Doctor said "this made my day!" He not only got back to his birth weight...he passed it by 9 ounces. Absolutely NO reason for a hospital stay now. As the Doctor walked out she said, "you must have had the right prayers being said." I know our family said many prayers out loud and silently, and to all of you who kept us in your thoughts and prayers...thank-you!!!! I appreciate you all sooo much!

My little Ashie is feeling much better, and my baby boy is getting even squishier! I'm feeling extremely grateful this evening...and a lot less anxious, so much so that I took a very nice nap this afternoon...a little bit of some much needed rest! Hope everyone has a fantastic Monday night!!

It seems like just yesterday she was born...a little girl, I had a little girl! It was hard to believe, and soo wonderful. She was fast to get here. I was induced at 8:30 and she was here at 12:05, I felt A LOT of natural child birth with her, but she was worth every second of it!

Lexlee has such an easy going, and sweet personality, she is such a little lady, and almost delicate like. She is so caring and gentle with the younger kids and very mothering.

Lexlee I am so proud of you. You make our home a better place to be, and you bring so much love into it. I love you sooooooo much you can't even imagine! Thanks for being you.

Failure to Thrive...

Yesterday at Lil' squishy face's weight check, he was diagnosed with "Failure to Thrive". Even though he was up 4 ounces he was still only 6 lbs 15 oz at almost five weeks, which is still 4 ounces from his birth weight. When a baby doesn't regain his birth weight by a month protocol is automatic admission to Primary Children's Medical Center. I was devastated!!! My Doctor said because of my crazy life of being basically a single mom during the week, instead of making the arrangements and sending him up right away, she would give me some time to talk with Hunter Dan and figure out what would be best for our family. The time spent at the Children's hospital would be two weight checks daily, complete caloric intake, multiple testing above and beyond all we have already done, and at least 2 to 4 days there. I was so heart-broken, but arrangements were made with my parents, they would head down within a few hours, Hunter Dan would be here shortly, and I was mentally preparing to spend some days and nights with my little guy in the hospital. A place I've been before, and had hoped I wouldn't spend another night there again. Don't get me wrong this hospital is amazing!!! I called the Doctor to let her know she could get him admitted within just a few hours. After she called the hospital though there were no single bed rooms available, and she wasn't willing to risk the baby getting sick by sharing a room with even a non-sick patient. My Doctor said,"Your baby is little and young, we can't risk him getting RSV right now." Believe me I know, after Ashie was there with it for nine days at three weeks old, we decided not to take lil squishy anywhere except to the Dr. I'm getting a little stir crazy.

So now the plan according to my Doctor is FEED HIM LIKE CRAZY this weekend, and weight check on Monday, if there isn't a significant change, he will be admitted. Talk about an emotional roller coaster!! I will be saying many prayers for the next few days for sure. But that brings me to something I haven't done forever, and it is time to get back....

1. I am sooo thankful to a wonderful Doctor.

2. I am sooo thankful that I will be able to spend Lexlee's birthday with her tomorrow instead of being at the hospital.(that was breaking my heart!)

3. I am sooo thankful that I have parents who were willing to drop everything to drive to Utah.

4. I am sooo thankful that Hunter Dan was able to arrange to work in town next week...just in case...

5. I am sooo thankful to Beto's Mexican food, where I just treated myself to a veggie burrito. Super YUM!!! I think I deserved it.:)

Hope everyone is having a wonderful Thursday, I will be busy for the next few days trying to stuff my baby with calories!:)

HAIR!!!

I love doing my girls hair!! It seems though in the last couple of months I have slacked a little, and there has been no creativity. Here are a few pics from the last week. I think I am starting to get back into the swing of things with a schedule...kind of. O.K. if I get a shower I feel like I have really accomplished something. Very SAD!!! Five kids is a bit of an adjustment....but I'm loving it!(mostly)haha:)

Boo...Hoo...

I'm sure everyone has realized by now that I am emotional....my family knows this very well. So it will be no surprise that today being the 18th of January, and my baby boys 1 month birthday, I am a little sad. A lot happy...but a little sad.(My doctor could see I was a wreck at my 2 week appointment, so the estrogen patch he prescribed has done wonders for my baby blues!!)

Seriously though, how could this month have gone by so quickly,

when being pregnant seemed to take so long?...One thing is for sure,

I can't seem to get enough of him, I love to smell the top of his head, and feel his little bit of hair on my cheek. I love kissing his little nose, and long fingers. I even love changing his little squishy buns. He is amazing, and thankfully all his tests from last week came back normal, what a blessing. Our focus now is just to fatten him up.

I love being a mom, I am so grateful that Heavenly Father has trusted and blessed me with these beautiful children. I love you Bug, Lexlee, Jibbity, Ashie, and Lil' squishy face...to the moon and back infinity.

I hope everyone has a wonderful, cold, snowy day(here in Utah) anyway! :) It's a good day to relax and snuggle up in a blanket.

A few weeks ago before the little munchkin was born, we had a HUGE snowstorm!! We have a pretty big drive way area, and Bug can handle shoveling the deck and stairs, the front sidewalk and front steps. BUT...the driveway is impossible, that is why we have a plow for our four-wheeler. Unfortunately Hunter Dan had not gotten it hooked up yet, and with him working out of town we are kind of on our own. We were having a hard time getting in and out of our driveway, and basically only had a path from our tires in and out to the garage. A couple days after the storm when I was having a particularly hard evening, I heard a strange sound coming from outside. It was a snow-blower in my drive-way. I started bawling like a baby!! It was a neighbor from three houses down. Someone who does not go to our church, didn't know I was pregnant, and didn't know Hunter Dan was working out of town. When I went out to tell him through my tears how much this meant to me and explain the situation...he simply said "no problem, I thought something was strange because your driveway is always cleaned off by now". He spent the next hour and a half in the cold snow blowing, and then shoveling my entire driveway. I was truly touched by this act of service.

During the first couple of weeks after lil' squishy face was born I had many opportunities to see service in action...for me. I am a bit prideful I guess and don't like to ask for help, but the ladies in my ward made sure we had meals brought in, and play dates for Jibbity and Ashie during the day since Hunter Dan was back at work, and Bug and Lexlee were still at their dads for the holidays.

Just this past Monday, when I had been so sick with strep, and had no idea what I was going to do about dinner for my kids, I got a knock on my front door from my neighbor two houses down with a pan of enchiladas, applesauce, oranges, and cookies. Once again touched to tears from the thoughtfulness that came from this neighbor who has three small children of her own.

Through these examples of service that brought me such joy, relief, and love...it hit me hard that this needs to be my focus for the upcoming year. I love taking meals into people, it makes me feel good, but do I do it very often?...No. I need to try to be better at looking at other peoples needs instead of just my own. That is my goal...never pass up an opportunity to serve.

Lil' squishy face had a weight check, and blood drawn again. The tests will be back tomorrow, I'm praying for good news. His weight was up another 4 ounces, but that still only brings him to 6 lbs 11 ounces, still 8 ounces away from his birth weight at almost 4 weeks. So I guess I will be giving him a little more formula at feedings. I'm kind of bummed about that, but we need to fatten him up. As a comparison, Bug weighed 2 ounces more when he was born, and at one month he was over ten pounds! He has never stopped since then.:-)

I am feeling much better now, but I'm probably going to be taking Lexlee in to instacare tonight after I get back from Jibbity's dance classes. She's pretty miserable with a nasty sore throat.

...................seriously??? I really don't have time to be sick! Lets just pray that no one else gets it!

*Just an update too... the lil' munchkin is slowly but surely gaining weight, he is up to 6 lbs 7 oz now. YAY!!!

Welcome Lil' Squishy face...his birthday story!!

I was scheduled for induction at 7:30 a.m. on Friday, December 18th. I was told to call at 6:30 a.m. to make sure that time was still ok. When I called they told me I had been put on hold and they would call me when there was a room available. They called around eight and told me to be there at 10:00. I was so anxious to meet my little guy I could hardly stand it. They started me on my antibiotics(group B strep positive)...hooked me to the monitors, and checked me. Dilated to a 3 and actually contracting on my own. The nurse kept losing the baby's heartbeat, because he was moving all over the place. After a couple of hours, and right before they were going to start me on pitocin, the nurse decided to do an ultrasound to see where the baby's heart was. First ultrasound baby was transverse(laying sideways). They called my Doctor and asked what she wanted to do, she came over and did another ultrasound, and checked me, baby was kind of head down...more like diagonal. She ordered for the big fancy ultrasound and tech to come do yet another one. By that time baby was footling breech. I had three options, go home and wait and see if he would turn, but they felt like that was pointless, since I was already contracting. Try to turn the baby, but even if they successfully turned him...chances are big that he could turn again, and when they would break my water if anything other than the head came down it would be an emergency c-section. And last option was to just do the c-section. Hunter Dan and I felt like opting for the c-section was the best. The Doctors came in and asked if they could just try to turn him, I agreed...excruciating pain...HOLY SMOKES!!! Finally through my body racking sobs, I asked them to stop, and Hunter Dan said that is enough, do the c-section. It was during the time of getting ready for surgery, that I realized that would mean at least an extra day in the hospital, and I found out that kids under 14 were not allowed to visit(swine flu). I was a mess, scared to death for the unknown of a c-section, and panicked that Ashie had not ever been away from me for more than just a few hours, let alone a few days.

On my end the c-section went fine, uncomfortable and a little claustrophobic...but ok. Unfortunately baby boy inhaled fluid in his lungs, so after seeing him long enough to know he had a cute little dimple in his chin, they rushed him to the nursery. He was 7 lbs 3 oz, and 19 inches. He was born at 3:52p.m. I was not able to see him, Hunter Dan had gone in a few times but wasn't allowed to touch him. By about two in the morning, no sleep, and the empty feeling I had...no baby to feel moving in my belly anymore, yet no one to hold in my arms...I thought I would burst. My sweet nurse asked if I had a camera, and went down to the nursery and took pictures for me. They removed his oxygen just long enough to snap a few pics, and brought me back my camera.

That helped. The next goal was to get me up by four. I was ready, because I knew if I could get up, I could see my baby. I spent just a couple minutes with him, and it was awesome. I was able to sleep a little after that.

The next few days kind of run together, but I was able to finally nurse him on Sunday. Monday he was able to be with me in my room, and YAY we went home on Tuesday.

All ready to go home.

The first time Ashie saw her new little brother...she hasn't left him alone since!!

Lexlee cried when she couldn't come to see him in the hospital, she was absolutely heart-broken. Her and Bug have never gotten home from school so fast as they did when they knew he would be home.

Bug completely thrilled to finally have another boy in the house, even if there are twelve years difference. He even has his own little cute nickname for him.

Grandma and her newest and last grandchild. This makes number twenty-five. We could never have gotten through these days without her. Thank-you, thank-you, thank-you!!!

And just a couple of pics the first couple days after we were home!

Here it is now and my little buddy is 2 weeks old...where in the world did the last two weeks go? Yep it's true I am extremely emotional, and with every passing day it breaks my heart that he is older...pathetic I know, but knowing that this is my last baby I am trying to enjoy and hold onto every single moment. He is doing much better now, and though a couple of the tests came back abnormal, we are hopeful that it is just because of his extreme weight loss...which I am very happy to say that he has gained four ounces, and that made the Doctor and our family very happy. He is now up to 6 lbs 3 ounces.

Which brings me to the winner(or should I say winners) of the weight and time contest! I decided to do two winners one for the weight and one for the time. And actually there were a few that were close on the weight so I had to draw out of hat. His actual weight was 7 lbs 3 oz, and the time of birth was 3:52. The winners are....

I am truly blessed to have this new little baby in my life and in our home. I can't remember what it was like without him. He has brought pure joy to our family, and made us a family of 7. We are having some problems with the little munchkin. He was able to be taken off the lights today, but his weight is dropping. He was only 5lbs 15oz today at his appointment. We had to have blood drawn from his teeny tiny veins in his arms.(both because they weren't able to get enough out of the first). Most of the results came back ok, but his blood sugar is low, so definitely cause for concern. I will try to post more tomorrow, because tonight I am emotionally, and physically drained.

I am very anxious to post all about our new little "squishy face"! He is an absolute little miracle and bundle of joy!! So much to tell and journal about, but give me time, things are crazy around here, and apparently I am suppose to be resting.:)

Unfortunately we are spending Christmas Eve under the lights. With everything else that has gone on we are now dealing with Jaundice, and started photo therapy this afternoon. Big time bummer!!! He's a little munchkin weighing 6 lbs 5 oz, but he's eating well so we are hoping he will start gaining instead of losing.
Thanks for all your sweet comments, thoughts and prayers. I appreciate them sooo much! I will try to post again soon, and I hope everyone has a very MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!! I love ya all!

My very best Christmas!!!!

Six years ago today....my sweet little Jibbity was born.

This was my first year without my two older kids for Christmas since they would be spending it with their dad, and I honestly didn't know how I would make it. Christmas has always been my favorite time of year, and I couldn't imagine how hard it would be to not hear their excitement on Christmas eve, and Christmas morning. Heavenly Father knew just what would make it better. Hunter Dan and I had only been married a few months when I found out I was pregnant, it was a bit of a surprise.

She was beautiful, she was brought to me in a big stocking by the nurses, and Santa even brought me a stocking filled with treats on Christmas Eve in the hospital. We had an awesome huge snow fall Christmas Eve night, and Hunter Dan and I spent the evening with our beautiful new baby girl. I got out late Christmas morning. It was wonderful!!!

Jibbity has been very excited for Christmas this year because Grandma will be spending so much time at our house. She keeps saying "this is the best Christmas ever!" Last week she asked me what my best Christmas ever was....I said, "oh that's easy, it was the year I got a beautiful baby girl for Christmas". She said, "thanks Mom", then gave me a squishy hug.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JIBBITY!!!!

I love you more than you could ever know, and am so happy that Heavenly Father knew just what I needed. Thanks for making me smile, and laugh all the time. Now stop growing up will ya!?!?!

Baby Boy is Here!

Hi friends and followers of Tanielle! Xazmin here...hijacking T's blog to give you a quick update. I'll make it brief so Tanielle can share all the details herself, but just wanted you to know:

Tanielle went in yesterday morning for a scheduled induction. Learned that Baby Boy was breech and would have to be delivered via c-section. He took fluid into his lungs during delivery and was immediately whisked away to the nursery for oxygen and IV treatment. It's hard on Tanielle not being able to snuggle her baby.

Baby Boy has not yet been given a name, because they've hardly had a chance to spend any time with him, and decide what name is right for him. He weighed 7lbs 3 oz and was 19 inches long.

I spoke to Tanielle briefly this afternoon, and she is emotional, but hanging in there. Baby Boy is doing better today, and is no longer on oxygen. Still struggling to nurse though, and is on IV still for nourishment.

I just wanted to let all you in the blog world who care about Tanielle know what's going on so you can keep her and her baby in your thoughts and prayers.

Jibbity woke up last Wednesday morning with croup. Not unusual since she gets it about every year. But frustrating because I hate when my kiddos are sick, and the thought of bringing home a new baby to a house full of sickies scares me to death. Especially since Ashie spent nine days at the childrens hospital with RSV when she was not quite three weeks old. Jibbity is feeling much better now, and other than Ashie with a bit of a stuffy nose, and myself getting over a cold, everyone is doing ok.

One thing I was very concerned about was that Jibbity's Christmas dance recital was Saturday, and she had been counting down the days to be able to perform on the stage. She was kind of off and on with feeling ok during the day. When the time finally came to get ready, I could tell she wasn't herself but she kept insisting that she felt good, and that, "she knew she could do it". We took her but only let her stay for her dances. She did great and looked adorable on the stage. She is never a bit nervous, not even when she was two and still in a pull-up at her very first recital. Gotta love this girl!!

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

I decided I wanted to make new stockings for our family this year. I'd been thinking about it for a while, then one early morning while grocery shopping at Wal-mart I slipped into the fabric department, and decided for sure...yep new stockings it is. Our old ones were pretty cute, Hunter Dan especially loved them because they were pink camo for the girls and green for the boys.(in fact he says Santa likes the old ones better, and will probably switch them out when he fills them.) I wanted a more Mrs. Santa Claus look...traditional red and green. I got all the fabric I needed for about 9 dollars. Making seven stockings took a while, but it was fun and I love how they turned out.

I wanted these ones a bit smaller than my old ones, but they still ended up being about 20 inches. Then there is this one on the end...no name yet for the baby, so for now just blank.

We got a bit of a storm yesterday!!!!
This picture doesn't really do it justice. We got a lot of snow!!!!It is gorgeous outside, the roads were hairy on the way to my Doctors appointment, but it is beautiful. The kids want to play in it sooo bad, but it is COLD out there....in fact right now it is.....
Holy smokes did ya see that? 7.6!!! BRRRRR...cold in my house too, gotta turn the heat up.

WHY????? In the world am I up at 4:14 a.m.???....and taking pictures? My back is a little achy, my mind is racing a little, I have really weird dreams, do ya think I am a bit anxious for baby to get here? I went in for my last appointment yesterday before induction on the 18th. Dilated to a 2. Doctor says maybe I'll go on my own, never have yet, but that would be ok with me. I have a few more presents to wrap, but other than that...I AM READY!!! Have I mentioned Jibbity's birthday is on the 23rd? Her presents are wrapped and ready, goodie bags are ready to be taken to school, and the "happy birthday" letters are cut out and ready to be hung up. AHHHH!

I think I will try to go back to sleep before the mad morning school rush starts in a couple of hours. Have a wonderful Wednesday!!!! STAY WARM!:-)

I'm sooo Thankful!!

Our Thankful tree....this is something we do every year in the fall. I cut out a large tree, and tape it to the pantry door. Then we cut out leaves, and for Family night we write the many things we are thankful for on the leaves and hang them on our tree. So many things to be thankful for, everything from family, friends, Heavenly Father, and church, to toilets, farting, and salsa. It's always a fun night.

How was your Thanksgiving?

We had a wonderful time in Idaho!! It was great to visit with my family, and have the kids play with their cousins. The kids and I arrived Tuesday evening, then Hunter Dan met us there Wednesday night. We had a super yummy Thanksgiving feast Thursday, then early(and I mean early)we took off to hit the sales in Idaho Falls. My mom, niece Michelle, and I were at Toys R Us at 3:30 a.m. We had way too much fun, laughing our guts out, and saying absolutely ridiculous things all morning. We hit many stores, then went back home. We had tickets to New Moon at 4:00 p.m. so we made our way back to Idaho Falls to enjoy some yummy vampire/ware wolf eye candy. There were eleven of us who went to the movie. I LOVED it, and can I just say the theater was full of men too. I don't think I could get Hunter Dan to go see it for anything!! Other than that we stayed up late at night, watched Christmas movies, ate yummy food, and hung out....it was wonderful!!! Here are a few pictures from our weekend.

Only 30-some days left and I get to meet my baby boy. I am soo excited and nervous. Yeah it just hit me that I have to do the whole labor thing again. Bug was a "Hollywood" delivery...the rest of them...not so much. My body is tired, and I'm feeling ready to be done, but the end is getting so near I can see it now. 500, Bug was right I've hit the 500 mark, and it's looking like this puke-fest I've been celebrating will continue right until the end. Worth it?...absolutely, even if my teeth decay and fall right out.:-)

Have you ever gotten so far behind that it seems impossible that you will ever catch up? That's where I've been these last few weeks. I have so many things I want to post about, Bugs ordination, my Mother-in-laws funeral(we are all still struggling with the fact that she is gone), Halloween, the SYTYCD concert...the list goes on and on. I have missed reading and posting, and trying to keep in touch with all of you out there. Life has been hectic as it is for everyone, and unfortunately blogging has been put right at the end of the list.

Just a quick post to get my over two week ago one off the top. Last Friday we all spent the afternoon(in the 42 degree temp.) raking leaves and getting the yard winterized. Sunny day but quite chilly!!!

Good timing I'd say since this was Saturday....
Awwww...I love the changes in the seasons...It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas...my ABSOLUTE favorite time of the year!!!! Even better....Christmas is going up this coming weekend at my house(hubby will be home, and I definitely can't do it by myself) because we are heading to Idaho for Thanksgiving!!!!(gotta have Christmas up for when we get back)WOOHOO!!!!!!

A new baby coming soon, beautiful snow, healthy-crazy kids, eternal families, Thanksgiving at home and Christmas...truly, I have so much to be thankful for. 500 barfs...no big deal!:-)

We received a completely unexpected phone call last night. Hunter Dan's Mom passed away. My heart is breaking for my husband, and his 7 siblings. As we cry here for how much we will miss her I know the reunion on the other side was joyous and wonderful as she was reunited with her husband, son, parents, and all her loved ones who had gone before. We love you and will miss you. I am so glad families are forever.

Maybe a little...

Just like last week...it's going to be a busy week. We've had many costume orders, and I think we are pretty much done. We also have a boutique coming up this weekend, and I am working non-stop to get tons of items made. Not to mention trying to get all the new items onto the Ribbon Blossoms website. Also this next weekend is very special since Bug will be receiving the Aaronic Priesthood, I can think of nothing better as my birthday present. I can't wait to see my Mom and Dad since they will be coming down for it.

I have missed blogging and getting around to visit everyone, I am missing all my bloggy friends, I will have tons of catching up to do and I can't wait!!!

I miss you all, and hope every one is doing well!!

I seriously can't believe 12 years have gone by so quickly!! You were the first little munchkin that was put into my arms, and I was sooo thrilled to have a handsome little boy. I didn't know if you were a boy or girl, and the very second I saw you, the love and joy I felt for you(this sweet little guy) was overwhelming. You have brought me many, many moments of joy, pride, admiration, and awe that I was trusted to be your Mom. I love you so much Bug... there just aren't words to describe it. This birthday is a very special one, and I am very proud of the young man you are and are becoming.

I haven't been thankful for a while so here I go...

1. I was able to get my blood drawn yesterday, for the glucose test. Yep I kept the orange drink down.

2. I have a vehicle that gets the kids and me to all the destinations we need to go. Yesterday was...busy!!

3. That Ribbon Blossoms has had so many orders!

4. That I have kids that make me laugh and want to pull my hair out all at the same time!

5. That I have a husband who works out of town, and misses us like crazy just to make sure he has a job and I can be home with the munchkins!! Thanks Hunter Dan!! I love you!

Time to Serve!!

SERVICE and WARM FUZZIES...

I decided that our family needs to focus more on serving others, and the happiness it brings into our lives when we do. From the little tiny things to big things that we would need to do as a family, it is time we focus on others. Bug and Lexlee understand a bit better about not being awarded for service, but Jibbity on the other hand...makes sure you know when she has served you.haha It was really sweet, last night Jibbity grabbed my hand and told me I needed to go look in my room. She had taken off all the pillows and pulled down the covers for me. She was so excited, and told me she had done service and that her heart felt good. Same thing today when she noticed Lexlee had not put her shoes away appropriately, she says to me,"look what I'm doing Mom...this is service".

So...I came up with a container that we can fill with "warm fuzzies", ya know the feeling you get when you serve someone or do something good?(an old red vines container, mod podge, and scrapbook paper) We will put a little craft pompom in the jar whenever we have done an act of service, little or big, it doesn't matter. The kids are soooo excited to start filling their "SERVICE" jar.

For Family Home Evening Monday night, we talked a lot about service. President Monson's talk on Sunday during General Conference really stuck with me. It was one the kids could actually remember, and they loved the "warm fuzzies" idea. Why not bring that spirit into our home?... now I gotta go buy some warm fuzzies.:-)

Just Stuff...with a recipe...

I love the things kids say, especially during prayer. Last night Jibbity was saying it, and after blessing her friend at school to be good instead of naughty, and asking to let us please have good dreams instead of bad, she finished off with a..."and please bless me that I can look cute in my pictures tomorrow". Oh how this 5 year old makes me laugh!! The kids have picture day today, and she is very concerned with what she is going to wear. She says she has to look "adorable".

Sunday afternoons I sometimes feel the desire to bake, nothing fancy mind you, but something Hunter Dan can enjoy during the week, as well as the kiddos. I thought it was time Bug tried his hand at a cake(from the box), and frosting(from scratch). He did awesome, and was soo proud of himself.

He says he can even make his own Birthday cake. It

was cute to see the sense of accomplishment on his face, especially when he tasted it after dinner. As if that weren't enough he then helped me make yummy marshmallow popcorn.

Here's the recipe...super easy and sooo yummy.

CANDY CANE POPCORN

4 quarts popcorn

3 cups mini marshmallows

1 cup margarine

1 1/3 cup sugar
1/2 cup light corn syrup
1 tsp vanilla

Pop corn, add marshmallows, nuts, gumdrops, m&m's or whatever.(my Mom always makes this at Christmas time for neighbors, and adds cashews and gumdrops. She also shapes it into a candy cane or wreath.) Melt margarine in heavy sauce pan, add sugar, and corn syrup. Bring to boil...stir and simmer for 3 minutes. Add vanilla, mix well, pour over popcorn.

We only added the marshmallows, and it's almost gone now. YUMMY!!!

Play the piano, the kids enjoy when I play, but I rarely take the time to.

Find a way to make lots of money, and enjoy what I do, while still being home with the kids.(Is that too much to ask?)

Good Morning!!!

We have been busy!!!

*First of all...I hit the 400 mark on the "BARF" calendar(gross I know, but this is also my journal)...the kids thought that was really awesome, and Bug is betting I will for sure pass 500.

I had an appointment with my Dr. on Thursday...the one where ya drink the nasty orange drink, and they draw your blood. You're suppose to drink it a half hour before your appointment. I got 5 minutes from the Dr. office and had to stop, and lost that nasty drink in a really nice residential neighborhood. Needless to say they gave me another drink, and I will try it again this week. Everything was good though, I was down 2 pounds, blood pressure was good, and no protein. I'm scheduled to be induced the 18th of December(if everything is o.k.) That is only 2 1/2 months!! WooHoo!!!

* I think I have started "nesting". I got a real bug the last few days to get everything in order. It started with the closets, I need organization!!! Then the drawers, on to washing walls and baseboards. The kids were out of school on Thursday and Friday, and have been a HUGE help!!! We even got the ceiling fans cleaned. We only have a four bedroom house, and right now the three girls share, luckily their bedroom is decent sized, the closet though is average. What do you do with three girls in one closet...organize!!! This is what it looks like...

Luckily they for the most part love to keep things tidy and organized too, hopefully it will stay this way for a while. We will definitely be needing to rearrange the bedrooms!!!

*Yesterday and today is L.D.S. General Conference. I love to hear from the First Presidency, and all the other amazing speakers that have been chosen to deliver messages that we need to hear. I always look forward to sitting down with my family and listening to what is being said.

*Anyway here it is a beautiful Sunday morning(the sun isn't awake yet, but I am)

...and I am trying to finally take a minute and get caught up a little. I don't work on Sundays(Ribbon Blossoms), but I also try not to get on the computer either, so before everyone is awake, I'll try to get around and say "hi". OOOH, it just started raining! I love the rain!

Monthly Craft Challenge

The adorable and super talented Heidi over at Blue Eyed Blessings hosts a monthly craft challenge. I haven't participated in a while , and thought it was time I got my stuff together! Be sure to head on over and check out all the other fun Halloween or Fall projects!!!

My project is super easy and last minute. I used a 12x12" tile I had laying around from another project, and with some mod podge and paper I came up with this...It looks perfect next to my big scary witch in the living room that cackles and her eyes light up when ya give her hand a squeeze. Now I think I will create a new tile for every holiday...too much fun.

Mod Podge Mania!!!

My amazing friend and business partner Xazmin is once again hosting her monthly Mod Podge Mania party. Go check out all the great projects and link up if you have one of your own.

My projects this month are actually Christmas gifts I just finished up for some ladies in my ward(church) that I am suppose to visit with each month, check and see how they are doing, and give them a quick spiritual lesson. Something I enjoy doing, but struggle to find the time lately. I am trying to be prepared this year with Christmas...considering baby number five will hit the seen around that time.

These turned out pretty cute I think.

They are 2x4s cut into 8" lengths. I used a little mod podge to adhere the paper, the letters are just little wooden ones I found at Joann's. Then a little tulle to tie around it. I will put them in clear bags and tie them with ribbon with a note that says "Home can be a Heaven on Earth". I hope the ladies will enjoy them. Simple, fun, and handmade. What could be better than getting something wonderful in the mail??? I recently received two surprises in my mailbox, and they absolutely made my day!!!

First of all my awesome bloggy friend Sheila from A Little Dirt Never Hurt(who is my friend in camo decorating, and wilderness decor, love this girl!!!) Sent me the most adorable "taggie" blanket for the new baby boy coming in under 90 days..woohoo!!! She made this and I am absolutely in love with it and the idea!!! So stinkin' cute, I'm pretty sure Hunter Dan will be loving this, maybe even snuggling up with it himself, I'll have to watch him on that one!!!

Isn't this so adorable and perfect for my little huntin' baby boy!?! Thank-you soooooo much Sheila, you made my day for sure!!! Now I'm workin' on a little thank-you for you!haha! Be watching your mail!:-)

Just a few things this morning before Xazmin and I head off to the greatest store ever!!! (Taipan Trading) LOVE this place!!! We need a fun break from working, and taking care of kiddos, so a visit to this store is definitely what we need, plus if you are into the Scentsy type candles at all, these guys have a brand of scented wax cubes that are AMAZING...in fact Xazmin picked one up for me for an "early"Birthday present last week, and it is the best scent ever!!!! Smells just like my very favorite candle from Salt City Candles....which I am not allowed to burn anymore.(Hunter Dan wasn't appreciating all the black on the ceiling from my obsession with candles...now I just have 4 Scentsys going at all times)

Just a few pics from the outside of the house...kind of sad but I didn't get as much put up as I would have normally...I ran out of energy....it's still fun though and festive just no coffin, or spider webs, or big spiders...maybe next year.

These pumpkins light up with orange lights inside...No pumpkins and gourds yet around the front door, I think maybe for family home evening in a couple weeks we will head to the pumpkin patch and pick some.We've had some of those chilly Fall mornings too...love it!

Lastly, Bug and Lexlee had orthodontist appointments yesterday morning. Poor Bug had to have four new brackets put on.....all the while Lexlee got a huge surprise, phase one of her work is done....BYE BYE BRACES!!!!!

She will get a break for about a year, but then phase two will start...more braces!!! Her teeth look amazing, her front teeth were completely sideways when she got them on, and her poor little mouth just didn't have enough room for all those teeth...unbelievable what can be done. I can't believe how much she smiled yesterday!!! Lexlee you are beautiful, and I love you to the moon!!!

The inside of the house is finally decorated, but Ashie is TERRIFIED!!! Kind of sad, but also kind of funny! She is slowly getting use to our spooky stuff. The outside is not done yet...we've had some great rain storms... good for the grass, not so good for decorating, today is looking hopeful! I will post some pics of the inside tomorrow. My toes are cold this morning, fall is definitely in the air...I love it!

It's been a while!!! Ashie is still sick with some nasty cold, it has passed on to me and a little to Jibbity(she's a little stuffily...her word) Ashie's poor little nose is raw from being wiped so much, she's acting better, but her nose is GROSS!!!

First of all Bug's first ever football game...he is Number 16.

They played a super tough team, they didn't win but they had fun and got some good experience. Bug looked quite tough out there!!(and cute)

My guy with the ball...oh and that morning we ran out and bought him a rib protector...was I nervous??? Yep..sure was!! He was fine, but his best friend who plays on a different team broke his thumb in two places..ouch!!

Last week I just pretty much spent the entire time taking care of Ashie, poor girl.(the reason I haven't been around to visit!!) On Saturday, we did head to Bug's second game. I decided to make some hair bows for the girls to show support to their favorite big brother, and we painted their faces a little.....

But I forgot the camera in the car for the game!!!OOPS!! They played well, our defense was awesome, Bug unfortunately threw an interception, and they ran it for a touchdown...major bummer!!! Tougher team though, but we played better...we will win...next time for sure!!!!

We had corn on the cob with our dinner last night, she took one bite and said, "OWWW", I asked her if she had a loose tooth, she said no. Then I looked and she had a little blood on her lip, her little tooth only took a couple of wiggles and it was out!!! She was soooo excited, she couldn't wait to get to bed and see if the tooth fairy would come! Did the tooth fairy come?????

First of all, THANKS so much for all the entries I received on the Halloween giveaway!! I am anxious to get around and visit each of you who left a comment and get to know my newest followers. It's awesome to get to meet other bloggers out there!! Give me some time though, I was out of town over the weekend, and Ashie is sick so I am having to take care of her, among the other "mommy" things that must be done. So, I recently participated in the absolutely adorable Shawn at Seriously...Birthday swap. How lucky was I that I got my amazing package from Shawn herself....she did NOT disappoint!!!

Everything was absolutely perfect, she knows me really well!!

Look at how adorable the ribbon is that is wrapped around all my goodies!!! I will be making bows for my girls with this now!!!

The cutest thing ever was that she sent a little gift for each of my kiddos, and they thought it was the best day!! They couldn't believe that "mommy's" friend had sent them something too!!

Bug was at football practice, so he didn't get to open his until later, but it was his VERY favorite candy ever....Reese's peanut butter cups!!

How fun are these?!?! They say "thanks"!!!!!

When I was driving slowly yesterday to find a parking place to pick my son up from practice, I really didn't need you hitching a ride on my bumper. I realize your truck was much larger than mine, and could have squashed me like a bug, but seriously did you really need to wave me your middle finger when I simply tapped on my breaks to remind you that there was a pregnant mother in the car you were trying to run over. I hope you had a nice rest of your evening, and no one else got in your way.

Dear neighbors,

I am so very grateful you moved into our neighborhood. Thanks so much for all the friends you have over at all hours of the day and night. I especially appreciate the sweet language I hear from my bedroom window, and the aroma of pot being smoked. Thanks so very much for your examples of what I DON'T want my kids to grow up to become. I really admired the driving skills of the one particular friend who jumped the curb when he came around the corner and nearly destroyed my entire family pulling weeds by our mailbox. I am so glad the kind police officer was quick on the scene, and gave you a warning about running the neighbor children over. But the very thing I want to thank you the most for, is when I looked out my living room window at 11:30 one night and was privileged enough to see your dear friend, in the light of my flood light, unzip his pants, pull out his "thing", and urinate on the road. I loved explaining to the police officer how I saw the puddle pool up on the road, because obviously the 20 feet to the house you were there to party at was simply to far to make it to the bathroom. Thanks so much for the joy you all have brought into this "family" neighborhood of ours!

My Mom is awesome!!!! No gettin' around it! She's beautiful, funny, smart, caring, sweet, and hilarious!!! Whenever my Dad says, "You are just like your Mother!", that is the best compliment I could ever receive!!!

Mom, I hope you have a fantastic Birthday, and get spoiled like you deserve!! I love you, and wish I could have gotten HIM(look down at my Mom's ultimate crush)...for ya, but Dad said "NO". Tom was all for it though!?!:-)
