O.K. here we go, the mess in the before pics makes me wonder how I ever got any work done at all...

YAY! What an improvement. It didn't cost me much except for the storage containers and the baskets. The containers I found at Big Lots for only $1.00 for the shoebox size and $3.oo for the larger size. All the baskets I found at a local thrift store for around a dollar each, then I spray painted some of them, and left some natural. I had a lot of stuff to go through, kids schoolwork, photos, and random junk. My baby had a blast with everything on the floor, it was better than Christmas for her. Amazingly though it kept her busy and I was able to get a lot done without her fussing. My 5 year old on the other hand was "trying" to be "my biggest helper", I eventually found that an apple and a movie bribe helped me out more. I love to be in my "sanctuary" again!

I was very impressed with your before and after pictures; HOWEVER, I have seen your house and you are the most organized person I have ever met (with the excetion of one sister-in-law) and so I want to know did you have to mess you shelves up for the before pictures?
