MOD PODGE MANIA!!!!

So, super X(Xazmin) is having a Mod Podge Party today over on her blog This is the Year. I had never used the stuff until(oh wait once in a super saturday project...I forgot!)...but for real not until Xazmin started talking it up so much! I asked Urban Hunter/Hunter Dan to pick me up some of that there mod podge while he was at Wal-mart, and he actually did. Now I'm thinking of the many things I can use this on!
???????

My first ever project was this large letter "M". My hubby is a big time hunter/outdoorsmen, and gradually I'm changing my living room to more of a rustic outdoors theme. ( Remember the trophy buck from a previous post, it's not going in my bedroom!) I already have it filled with alpine trees, so the change is starting to take place. I took my ivory letter "M", and covered it in this camo fabric, when it dried...I cut the scrap fabric off, and then sanded the edges. The ivory still showing on the sides. The hubby actually thought this was pretty cool...that is amazing!!!!(he gets a little tired of all the craft projects I do...or maybe he's just jealous)Who knows!
I thought that turned out good... I decided to do an old 8x10 frame I had, just for the heck of it, and because it really is fun to peel the mod podge off your fingers! I used the same fabric and....

...this is how it turned out! Fun stuff! So that's when a few days later I decided to try the Easter eggs, you can see them here.

I am excited to share more of the projects lurking around in my head. If you have any mod podge ideas or projects you've done, head on over to Xazmin's and link up.

Have a WoNdErFuL day everyone!!! Hey I almost have 100 followers, thanks so much!!!! I ♥ all my bloggy friends!!!!

FRIEND MAKIN' MONDAY!!

O.K. so it's time for Friend Makin' Monday over at Kasey's. It's a great way to get to know some of those awesome bloggers out there, and make new friends! So head on over to link up.
Today we are talking about how sharing things build friendships...we are suppose to tell 10 things that we cannot live without and why...
SO...ToDaY wE sHaRe!!!!
Here I go...
1. Scentsy...I cannot burn candles anymore because I was ruining our walls and ceiling with all the black that was being left behind from the flame. I always had at least 2 candles burning. The Hubby got tired of it and said,"no more". I soon found scensty. Now I have the wonderful scents I love all through my house and no more wicks. Of course I may have gone a little overboard with them because I have 5 warmers through-out my house, and usually at least three on at all times.
2. My slippers...so, these are pretty much not me at all!!!!! But Urban Hunter(formerly known as Hunter Dan.."too nerdy", he said...Hunter Dan is an action figure, but for Hunters...he comes with a rifle, bow, tent, 4-wheeler, and more, anyway Urban Hunter said he really didn't like that name so we have moved on to an inside joke that only my darling niece, Urban Hunter, and I know)...back to me. He gave these to me and I love them. I wear them everywhere, well not shopping, or anything, but I wear them all the time. They are ugly I know!

3. Pizza...I love this cheesy goodness, but I have been trying to be good because I am trying to get "hot". But oh how I love those delicious pepperoni, and onion pizzas!!! With tons of crushed red peppers on top! (mouth watering) YUM!
4. Flipflops...totally opposite of my slippers, but loved just the same. I have really bad feet, and these little beauties are HORRIBLE. But I still wear them and pay for it when I wake up in the morning!

5. NKOTB c.d.... I heart Donnie!!! I listen to this c.d. all the time. I heart Donnie!!! It is awesome! I heart Donnie!!! They better come back on tour this summer!! I heart Donnie!!! Did I mention I think Donnie is kind of cute?

6. M.A.C. foundation...I love this stuff. Well actually I love make-up, and I absolutely can't live without it...o.k. I could but the world would be a lot scarier!!!

7. Silver jewelry... I love, love, love jewelry! Silver is my fav. I got my love of jewelry(and make-up actually) from my Mom. She always put on earrings and lipstick to haul garbage to the dump...she always said,"ya never know when you might see Robert Redford". So thanks Mom!!!!

8. My vacuum...well actually not MY vacuum because it isn't a Dyson, but I love that I have a vacuum that I can use daily. I am a freak that way, and have to have a clean floor!(when I break yet another vacuum, I hope I get a Dyson.)

9. Cold water...I drink it all day long...I put two 32 oz. bottles in the fridge, and always keep them filled. It's gotta be cold...so refreshing, especially on these blustery snowy days!

10. Victorias Secret lotion and body spray...I use this numerous times a day! It smells soooo good. I don't have a favorite scent, just quite a few I switch between. Does that make me look like one of their models?
Well there you have it! Some of the things besides the obvious, like...my kiddos, and hubby, that I can't live without. Have a WONDERFUL Monday everyone!

Product of the 80's?

I heart the 80's!! I was born in 1976, and most of my memories of childhood of course come from that awesome time period. Elementary and Junior High.....awww..the memories. Loved... Poison, BonJovi, Skid Row, Firehouse, Slaughter,....just to name a few! How about acid-washed jeans, jean jackets, mini skirts, layered socks and shirts, pegged pants, jelly bracelets, HUGE hair..on and on. I graduated in 1995, and in a small rural town in Idaho, so many of these things lasted well into High School, but by graduation most of these things had moved on, and the nineties style came about.

My Hunter Dan on the other hand was born in 1969...and the 80's are his life!!! He still loves the heavy metal bands!! LOVES...Ozzy, Metallica(o.k. I like them too)...AC/DC..the others I'll just leave out, and let you imagine them.

My song memories are mostly for the ballads that take me back to a certain boyfriend, or dance. Loved that time!

On to the reason for this post....Hunter Dan went to Walgreens to get a prescription filled, while he was waiting he looked around the store(bad idea)! He called and asked what size shirt Ashie wears, when I told him and asked why, he said don't worry about it. Whatever, now I'm scared!

He came home with two little t-shirts, one that was pink and so cute that said..."what part of princess don't you understand?"

And this one...

I laughed...this is SO him, an awesome product of the 80's. Hunter Dan I love you! Thanks for being such a hard worker for our family, and loving us so much!

Have a beautiful Sunday everyone!!! It is once again another blizzard outside, but the daffodils look pretty peeking up from out of the snow...oh wait no they don't they are completely covered!:-)

Favorite Things Swap!!!

If you're interested in doing a fun swap head over to Kati's and link up! I am so excited!!!

A couple of projects

Well I have been dying to try out the Mod Podge Easter eggs that Xazmin posted a while back...so Jibbity and I got to work. We used fabric instead of paper though. She cut scraps of fabric and I used the Mod Podge. Can I just say...that stuff is even funner to pull off your fingers than elmers glue was in elementary school!!! Anyway it was fun and easy, and didn't take very long.
After that we decided to decorate a Jone's soda bottle that I swiped from Xazmin a few days ago. We Mod podged the fabric on that too, and then just decorated it up a little. Jibbity loved putting the jelly beans in. Hunter Dan was not happy when he found his stash of jelly beans were used in a craft project and then hot glued closed so they wouldn't fall out...oops! Oh well it looks cute!

The block is just a two by four cut to about 10 inches. Then painted and decorated a little, both my older girls love painting the "blocks", I use for lots of projects.

I put these in my kitchen on the window ledge. They look so cheerful and happy! The sun is shining, the birds are singing, the snow is almost melted! YAY!!!!

Hope everyone has a wonderful, and happy Friday! I LOVE Fridays!

Totally Thankful Thursday...and Mom of the Year?!

TOTALLY THANKFUL THURSDAY!!!
Well here I am wide awake at 12:39 A.M. I decided it was a great time to do my TTT. So here goes:
1. I know I've been complaining about the snow a lot, but this afternoon when I went out to get my mail...the snow had melted quite a bit, and the grass, the tulips, and the perrenials...are so gorgeous and green. It made me smile. That crazy snow is making my yard and flowers so pretty, and giving them the moisture they need! THANKS snow...sorry I cussed you on Monday!
2. Amy my adorable, crazy niece who is in her first year of college, and experiencing some awesome roomy issues! She is waiting for me to add her to my TTT list, so this is for you!! Thanks for helping me like you do "Grandma" on the computer! Love YA!
3. Valtrex...it's a herpes medicine that has thankfully slowed the beast of a coldsore that I have on my face from getting any worse. I'd post a picture of that, but you'd throw-up!!! I get them when I am extremely stressed, the first one when I was 16. This time it decided to go ahead and grab a staph infection too. It's the size of a quarter right on my cheek. Gross!!!
4. NKOTB...(New Kids On the Block) your new album's songs are stuck in my head. And Jibbity sings them all the time too! Do you think I listen a little too much?
5. Middle of the night blogging...I love this peaceful time to enjoy everyones posts. I love all you new friends I have made! Thanks for your comments!

Extreme Makeover...Me Edition!!!

Here it is the first week of Extreme Makeover...Me edition. Amber is hosting this awesome place where we can get together and share our "makeover" goals, frustrations, success, and everything in between. A big support group...how AWESOME!!! Every Wednesday, you can go over and link up. So come join in!

My goals are many! Eat healthier, exercise, cut down, and on and on! I have been dieting for ten and a half weeks, and have done quite well. I'll post my weight loss sometime soon. For now I am struggling a bit, I tend to want to eat when I am down and there has been a lot of stress lately. Things are getting better though. The sunshine is a big motivator for me, and it is hiding right now. But, I know it will be back!

Today's question: Do you have any low calorie snacks that you'd like to share?

I heart popcorn, and pretzels. I know, not fruit or veggies, but salty which is what I crave the most! If I write down my meal plan for the day the night before that helps too!! I don't stray(usually)! And I do eat fruit and vegetables...but I don't always love them.

Hope everyones week was a good one! Thanks again Amber!!!:-)

I actually made something my GIRLIES can wear...

I am NOT a seamstress!!! My Mom can sew the most AMAZING dresses, she made all my formals, and my wedding dress(for my first wedding). I would pick out three different patterns and say..."I want the bodice of this, the skirt of that, and the neck of that one." She could make it happen! My formals were beautiful, big and puffy and hoop-slip needed fluffy! Oh the nineties! Anyway she is amazing! I on the other hand DID NOT have the patience to learn to sew, even though I was given a sewing machine for Christmas one year....which I sold a year later, because I didn't use it! STUPID!!!! Anyway I ended up getting another sewing machine about 8 or 9 years ago, for simple block quilts and other simple projects. Then I really wanted a surger for easier sewing. My Mom had one and even though I didn't sew for real, I was great at making check-book covers, and wallets when I was little. A lady in my neighborhood was selling her surger which was exactly like the one my Mom had, and that I played on. So I got a great price and YAY...I have everything I need to sew. But I use it only for SIMPLE things. Sometimes I get the "bug" to make something really amazing...but then I remember you have to use a pattern. I AM NOT good with patterns, I don't have the patience for them, and usually they just don't make sense to me. The other day I was reading my adorable niece Tracy's blog, and she had just made the cutest dress for her baby who is only a couple months older than Ashie. I thought..."I want to make a dress." SoTRACE... you inspired me!!! Thanks!!!
This is the one I made for Ashie. I can't get her to old still for two seconds or I would have taken a pic of it on her. I think it turned out pretty cute, and bright and Springy.(great since it's snowing outside!)
This is Jibbity's. I actually only bought fabric for Ashie a dress, but when I got it done, Jibbity was in love with it, and wanted me to make her one too. I didn't have enough fabric for her...so that's why it has all the different panels on the skirt. I used scraps I already had.
She loves it and now thinks I am really amazing!(she's only five and doesn't know the truth)! Good thing she doesn't know how a well-sewn dress looks!:-) My sewing bug is satisfied for a while now. Unfortunately Lexlee wants one too, so I guess I will make one for her.
Have a great Wednesday! Hope the sun comes out again soon! Not that I don't looooove the snow but I think everyone else here is sick of it!

Prayers and a bit Fabulous!!!

So...my little Jibbity is quite the character. She is always making us laugh our heads off, she's fun and happy, and a little bit naughty sometimes. The other morning before the older kids left for school, we had our morning prayer, Jibbity was the one to say it, and in her sweet prayer, she asked that Heavenly Father "help us to be good and listen to our moms and dads." This worked great for me throughout the day because...whenever she would start to act up, I'd ask her to remember what she asked Heavenly Father to help us with. She'd say "Oh yeah...to help us be good."(said in a sad little voice). I must have reminded her a million times.
The next morning she asked if she could say the prayer once again. Before the kids left for school she said a sweet little prayer..."to bless the kids at school, bless Daddy, and help us to have fun." When she was finished she looked over at me and said with a big smile..."did ya notice what I left out today?"
Someone thinks my Blog is Fabulous!!! Thanks to shortmama... she honored me with this award, and I am sooo excited and grateful to her. She's adorable!!

Sign of Spring and TOTALLY THANKFUL THURSDAY!

I am so excited we have been having some pretty fabulous weather for the last few days, and have even been working out in the yard a little. I love when signs of Spring start showing up! We opened our windows to let a little fresh air in...and oh how I love to be able to do that!

My girls were VERY excited to see the first "yellow" flower of the year!

TOTALLY THANKFUL THURSDAY...

Always sooo much to be thankful for, but here are the five at this very moment...
