I actually made something my GIRLIES can wear...

I am NOT a seamstress!!! My Mom can sew the most AMAZING dresses, she made all my formals, and my wedding dress(for my first wedding). I would pick out three different patterns and say..."I want the bodice of this, the skirt of that, and the neck of that one." She could make it happen! My formals were beautiful, big and puffy and hoop-slip needed fluffy! Oh the nineties! Anyway she is amazing! I on the other hand DID NOT have the patience to learn to sew, even though I was given a sewing machine for Christmas one year....which I sold a year later, because I didn't use it! STUPID!!!! Anyway I ended up getting another sewing machine about 8 or 9 years ago, for simple block quilts and other simple projects. Then I really wanted a surger for easier sewing. My Mom had one and even though I didn't sew for real, I was great at making check-book covers, and wallets when I was little. A lady in my neighborhood was selling her surger which was exactly like the one my Mom had, and that I played on. So I got a great price and YAY...I have everything I need to sew. But I use it only for SIMPLE things. Sometimes I get the "bug" to make something really amazing...but then I remember you have to use a pattern. I AM NOT good with patterns, I don't have the patience for them, and usually they just don't make sense to me. The other day I was reading my adorable niece Tracy's blog, and she had just made the cutest dress for her baby who is only a couple months older than Ashie. I thought..."I want to make a dress." SoTRACE... you inspired me!!! Thanks!!!
This is the one I made for Ashie. I can't get her to old still for two seconds or I would have taken a pic of it on her. I think it turned out pretty cute, and bright and Springy.(great since it's snowing outside!)
This is Jibbity's. I actually only bought fabric for Ashie a dress, but when I got it done, Jibbity was in love with it, and wanted me to make her one too. I didn't have enough fabric for her...so that's why it has all the different panels on the skirt. I used scraps I already had.
She loves it and now thinks I am really amazing!(she's only five and doesn't know the truth)! Good thing she doesn't know how a well-sewn dress looks!:-) My sewing bug is satisfied for a while now. Unfortunately Lexlee wants one too, so I guess I will make one for her.
Have a great Wednesday! Hope the sun comes out again soon! Not that I don't looooove the snow but I think everyone else here is sick of it!

WOW! Those dresses are amazing!! I had grandmothers that were wonderful but I just never ever learned. I got a machine about 2 years ago and am teaching myself.

You have talent!

Cute!! You know a WHOLE lot more than I do, so think of it that way! The dresses turned out cute, you should show Lexlee's when you're done.

Look at you! I love the panel one for Jibbity. I am horrible when it comes to keeping scraps, everything goes in the trash, I hate clutter!

Hope the sun comes out for you soon.

Alright, I am totally impressed! I love them! Now, I have two girls that need them as well! You can just call me when they are done! HEHE!! No, they are adorable so that means that we need to make a trip down so that I can see them on the girls. Bob's your Uncle!

What nice dresses you made. I know I could never do that. If I even tried really hard.

The dresses are amazing! I can barely sew a button let alone a straight seam.

Not a seamstress? Are you kidding? These are absolutely adorable...such pretty colors! I think the only thing I could sew would be Barbie clothes, and even that might get ugly. The "sewing genes" definitely skipped me (my mom is awesome!)
