O.K. so....My cutie friend
shortmama, just started something
AWESOME...it's a
HOME REDO... ONE ROOM AT A TIME. This is the very first month of this fun adventure, and we're starting off in the living room. Fun, fun, fun. You have a month to make the changes you've been wanting to make. For me personally, I don't have any extra cash to be making big changes, like carpet or furniture, or many other ideas I have floating around in my head...but I am going to participate because, I am transitioning my living room to the "trophy", outdoors, hunting room. All that kind of stuff is currently in my bedroom, and it's getting way too crowded. I know there are many out there that don't like the "hunting" stuff(so I apologize), but it's what I grew up with, and I have a very outdoors man husband. I actually really like the woodland, outdoors, cabin, kind of look.....so I'm going to see what I can do within my (non-existent) budget.
Yard sales, and thrift stores here I come. This is what the living room looks like right now....notice, I have already added many alpine trees, and I have been slowly changing things out. Oh and P.S. I decorate very boutique-like, don't make fun, I like my crowded style.:-)
Currently the colors are sage green, yellow, blue and tan. I have a border going all the way around the living room...which I wouldn't normally choose, but there was a border when we moved in, and it was not wanting to come down. I found a border I liked that matched the colors I was doing, so just put it up over the existing one. Eventually I want crown molding...hmmmm, we'll see.
The rocking chair is a present from Hunter Dan's mom. With the first grandchild, you get a rocking chair.(Pretty sweet I think) Oh and Jibbity said she
"needed" to be in the pic.
Our house is a split entry, thirty-three year old home. Lots of changes I would like to make for sure. Nope my house isn't big, or fancy, or new...but it is decorated fun and how I like(but ready for some changes), it's clean, keeps my family safe, makes us comfortable, and is one of my favorite places to be. I am truly grateful and blessed!
Down below the light is the front door. The HUGE wreath I actually really like, but one of my first projects will be to change it to a woodland wreath instead of drieds. Hubby thinks that will be cool. He's never liked the wreath, but now that it will be more "manly", he's changin' his mind.
Lots to do, lots to do....what can I do in 1 month...I'm anxious to get to work and see!!!! If you want to join the party head on over to shortmama's and link up. We'll all link back up in a month again to see what we accomplished. AWESOME!!!
I'm going to go snuggle Ashie now...she's pretty miserable. Have a fun day! Ours is VERY rainy!!!(made for a bit of a chilly soccer game this morning at 9:00 a.m., still trying to un-thaw)

Well, I think it looks great already, but what do I know? ;) I think it is SO cool of you to want to change the decor for Hunter Dan. You are a good wife!! ;) I've found that I have to be even more creative (and have more fun!) when we don't have extra $$ for stuff like this. You'll have to "shop your house," thrift, and visit the Dollar Store! :) Have fun!!
My husband is a hunter too. Not only are you a nice wifey to re-do your living room in Hunter Decor, but you are up for Wife of the Year for letting him put deer heads in your bedroom.
I think your room looks great! Can't wait to see what it looks like. TFS
I think your room looks great as it is!!! It's so homey looking!
I can't wait to see what you do with it!
Yay so glad you joined in the fun! I am so looking forward to seeing your finished room, Levi may be jealous of your lodge look hehe. I think its so much fun to do the yard sale and thrift store finds, cant want to show ya what we got their today!
Aren't you just the sweetest wifey?
I "try" to let Prince have a say in the decor but...........well..... you know, lol.
He'd have crazy stuff everywhere and I can't have that now can I??
I think the room is pretty now and can't wait to see the re-did :)

I think this will be a fun project - a room at a time sounds doable!
I think your living room already looks super cute - It can only get better:D
I like your room. And I'm like you, I like stuff to! Spent the day in the rain to. WHERE IS THE SUN? Maybe we're supposed to be building an ark?????
Thanks for the award. Very nice:)
And I'm for sure joining the "Home Re-DO". OH MY....I hate to share the pictures of this room though. AUGH!!!
Have a great day.

I love this idea. You are a sweet wife. A hunting/outdoor theme sounds nice. New paint can make a big difference. Maybe some kind of technique that looks aged or like beams?
I can't wait to see what you decide to do!
XOXO

I think that is funny about what your husband thinks about the wreath! Mine would say the same too! I love the cozy, county look you have going on....that makes a home feel family-friendy and comfortable!
You win the Wife of the Year award hands down!! I love the massive wreath.
I love room make-overs, especially with "what you have already"!
It sounds like you are really making a change! You go girl!
I have a blog that is all about simple design principles to help you create a cozy and comfortable space --- you may find a few ideas to help you put your new space together.
I can't wait to see the end results.
